To thoroughly implement the spirit of the university's talent work conference, the College convened its annual special meeting on talent work on March 19, 2025, in Conference Room 202. Attendees included all college leaders, heads of disciplines and majors, secretaries and directors of departments, leaders of scientific and technological innovation teams, teacher representatives with overseas (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) study experience, and relevant office staff.
At the meeting, Dean Kang Aihong first conveyed the spirit of the university's talent work conference, emphasizing the need to deeply grasp the strategic positioning of "talents as the primary resource" and made a comprehensive deployment of the College's 2025 talent work. She highlighted the College's commitment to four key priorities: first, targeted talent recruitment to align with discipline/major development needs, focusing on introducing talents in cutting-edge fields; second, strengthening overseas (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) talent recruitment by improving international talent acquisition networks and optimizing service mechanisms for international talents; third, prioritizing high-level talent recruitment through proactive resource exploration and establishing "tailored strategies for each individual"; fourth, precise talent cultivation by building a development system for young teachers, enhancing support for domestic and overseas visits, implementing engineering practice assessments, and creating a "community for talent growth."
Office Director Xu Ting reported on the College's talent work in recent years, focusing on the construction of the mid-to-young teacher team and providing a comprehensive overview of national and provincial-level projects, as well as postdoctoral talent programs/projects.
During the discussion session, participants engaged in in-depth talks about difficulties and pain points in talent work, proposing rational suggestions on strengthening the recruitment and cultivation of high-level talents, fostering interdisciplinary talent, introducing diversified talent incentives, and expanding overseas (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) recruitment channels.
In his concluding remarks, Party Secretary Wang Enjun stressed that enhancing the recruitment and cultivation of high-level talents is both a timely need for building a strong teaching team and a practical need for discipline and major development. He urged all disciplines, majors, and teams to elevate their political stance, build consensus, and prioritize overseas talent recruitment and the development of young teacher teams. They should break through ingrained thinking and conventional approaches, adopting more open minds, pragmatic measures, and supportive services to attract and nurture talents, striving to create a new chapter in the College's talent work.
