Teacher Course Implementation Ability Enhancement Training Class Opens at Our University

On the morning of July 14th, the opening ceremony for the 2025 Annual Higher Vocational Colleges Civil Engineering and Architecture Category Teacher Course Implementation Ability Enhancement Training Class was held at Yangzhou University. 38 professional backbone teachers from nearly 30 higher vocational colleges across the province gathered together to jointly embark on a 28-day professional training journey. Hong Xiubing, Vice Dean of the Yangzhou University College of Continuing Education, and Zhang Yan, Party Secretary of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, attended and delivered speeches. Deng Shejun, Vice Dean of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, presided over the ceremony.

Hong Xiubing highlighted the basic situation of Yangzhou University and the related aspects of its continuing education work, emphasizing that this training is an important measure to actively respond to the spirit of the National Vocational Education Conference. Through the innovative model of "Theoretical Guidance + Practical Empowerment," it aims to enhance teachers' professional competence and teaching practice ability. He put forward three expectations for the trainees: first, to promote teaching through learning, cherish the learning opportunity, and transform cutting-edge ideas into teaching momentum; second, to promote action through research, deepen interaction and exchange, and achieve common growth through the collision of ideas; third, to establish oneself through virtue, strictly abide by training discipline, and demonstrate the professional demeanor of vocational education teachers.

Zhang Yan, on behalf of the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering, extended a warm welcome to all the trainees and expressed heartfelt congratulations on the opening of the training class. He introduced the College of Civil and Transportation Engineering's efforts to continuously assist the future of urbanization construction through all-round education and its achievements in striving to embark on a new journey of building a well-known high-level research-oriented college domestically, from three aspects: its history, comprehensive strength, and development momentum. He also provided detailed explanations regarding the course arrangements, assessment evaluation, and logistical support for this training session.

The first lecture of the training class specially invited Associate Professor Wang Xinming, who has participated in the development work of the National Vocational Education Professional Directory, Professional Profiles, and Professional Teaching Standards. He delivered a thematic report titled "Implementation Key Points and Innovative Practices of National Professional Teaching Standards for Vocational Education (Civil Engineering and Architecture Category)." From the three dimensions of "Why establish standards," "How to understand standards," and "How to use standards well," he provided a panoramic interpretation of the professional teaching standards combined with typical cases. The trainees engaged in heated discussions around the difficult issues in the implementation of the standards, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent training.

It is reported that this training will also organize visits to the Intelligent Construction Integration of Industry and Education Practical Training Base and carry out a series of activities such as teaching ability demonstration and evaluation.
