On the morning of October 23, the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation held a regular meeting on Party affairs work in Conference Room 202 of Shixue Building. The meeting thoroughly studied General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on Party branch construction, conveyed the relevant spirit of the university's regular work meeting, emphasized the key tasks of Party affairs work for this semester, and arranged the brewing and nomination of candidates for members of the Party Committee at the 4th Party Member Congress of the school. Zhang Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, presided over the meeting. Xu Ting, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the school, all Party branch secretaries and relevant Party affairs staff attended the meeting.

Zhang Yan led the study of institutional documents such as "Implementation Opinions of the Party Committee of Yangzhou University on Vigorously Promoting the Construction of Grassroots Party Organizations" and "Standards for the Work of Grassroots Party Branches of Yangzhou University". He explained and interpreted the rectification progress of the problem "the school Party Committee's guidance and promotion of the work of teacher and student Party branches is not strong enough" put forward in the inspection feedback from the Provincial Party Committee, as well as "Measures for the Political Inspection of Talent Introduction in Yangzhou University" and "Guidelines for Members of the School Leading Team to Go Deep into the Grassroots to Serve Teachers and Students". He emphasized that doing a good job in Party building in colleges and universities and consolidating the fighting fortress of Party branches is an inevitable requirement for implementing the general requirements for Party building in the new era and the Party's organizational line in the new era, and an important guarantee for building a domestically renowned high-level research-oriented school.
